1. Who We Are
TaxWiseTrader (“we”, “us”) is a financial analytics SaaS platform for Indian equity traders. We are governed by Indian law and comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
2. Data We Collect
- Account data: Name, email address, password (hashed — never stored in plaintext).
- Trade data: Transactions, quantities, prices, and dates that you manually upload or import.
- Broker credentials: API keys and access tokens (encrypted at rest) if you connect a broker account.
- Payment data: Order IDs and amounts processed via Razorpay. We do not store card details.
- Usage data: Login timestamps, feature usage events, and error logs for operational purposes.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To calculate your capital gains, tax liabilities, and portfolio analytics.
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To send transactional emails (OTP, payment confirmation, password reset).
- To improve the Platform and debug errors.
- We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Data Sharing
We share data only with:
- Razorpay — for payment processing.
- Email providers (Brevo/Resend) — for transactional emails.
- Render — our cloud hosting platform.
- We may disclose data when required by law or valid legal process.
5. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, data is soft-deleted immediately and permanently purged after 30 days. You may request immediate deletion by contacting support.
6. Your Rights (DPDP Act)
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Erase your data (account deletion).
- Export your trade and portfolio data (available via Settings → Export Data).
- Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.
7. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including: bcrypt password hashing, HTTPS-only connections, CSRF protection on all form submissions, encrypted broker credential storage, and session cookie security flags.
8. Cookies
We use only essential session cookies required for authentication and CSRF protection. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Platform is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
